Finedust control

Air contains all kinds of particles, including fine dust and ultra-fine dust produced by organic and anorganic particles. These particles act as a carrier for bacteria, viruses, fungi and endotoxins etc. We breathe in these particles, even though that is very bad for our health. How can we ensure that the fine concentrations of dust are being reduced?

Using insulators, a specially developed electrode is fitted onto an earthed surface known as a counter electrode. We supply a positive high voltage to the electrode, creating a strong electric field. This creates positive ions that transmit the positive charge to the particles in the air, causing them to start moving towards the counter electrode. As soon as this particle collides with the counter electrode, the positive charge is released and attaches itself to the counter electrode. That discharge causes a “Vanderwaals bond”, causing the fine dust to bind together and turn into coarse dust, ultimately rendering the fine dust harmless.

The benefits of positive ionisation are:

  • Suitable for ultra-fine and fine dust
  • Low energy consumption
  • Suitable in various sectors and implementable in existing systems
  • Purification of large quantities of air
  • Air purification at high air speeds
  • Low maintenance
  • Low cost of ownership
  • Minimum air resistance
  • No ozone created compared to negative ionisation
